Access to medical records

The practice is registered and complies with the Data Protection Act 2018. Any request for access to notes by a patient, relative or third party will be dealt with in accordance with the Act.

You are entitled to view and take away a copy of your medical records – but there is a formal procedure, fees to pay, up to 40 days timescale, and some legal limitations on the content. You can however view your record informally (and without charge) with the doctor who will answer any queries you may have.

Our leaflet “Access to your Medical Records” gives more information.
