GPAQ Patient Survey 2010/2011 Doctors Christie and Harris would like to thank all patients who helped out in our recent patient survey which was carried out between November 2010 and January 2011. We had 75 responses and the analysis and comments from the completed forms is detailed below. Contacting the Surgery. When telephoning the surgery to either book an appointment or make an enquiry 99% of patients thought it was and very good to excellent personal (not automated) service. When patients felt they need to speak to a doctor 80% thought we offered a very good prompt service (many patients had not needed to speak to a doctor). Reception & Admin Staff. Over 88% of patient felt that that the receptionists and other staff offered a good to excellent service for the community. The majority of patients (99%) were happy with the current surgery opening times, and these results were reflected in the previous survey on opening times carried out in June 2010. Seeing the Doctor. The majority of patients were able to book an appointment within 2 working days and they thought this was a very good to excellent service. 75% of patients were able to see a doctor of their choice on a day that suited them. When in the waiting room 82% stated that they only had to wait for a maximum of 10 minutes and the all thought it was an excellent. The consultation. During the consolation with the doctor or nurses patients felt that they were involved in the discussion about their care and treatment. They spent enough time with them and they felt the doctors and nurses were caring, patient, listened to what patients have to say and offered good advice. After the consultation 46% felt they understood their problems and 64% felt they would be able to cope better with the treatment / advice they had been offered. Patients comments. 1. Found practice very helpful and calming. Extremely professional in all ways 2. In my view this is the sort of practice that justifies the proposed NHS changes 3. Well cared for at his surgery by the Doctors and staff 4. Great services by doctors and staff 5. Good flu clinics very social event 6. Small local practice with doctors and staff knowing patients. It has a warm, personal and highly professional feeling. Staff, go out of way to be helpful. 7. We are very lucky to have such good doctors – Thank you 8. I think it’s a great practice 9. Its local a very good service 10. Skill and care of doctors and nurses are efficient. 11. Friendliness of the support staff 12. Great care 13. Very speedy and efficient service 14. Receptionists eager to help 15. A very caring team 16. Follow up letters to consultants have been poor. 17. Availability at weekends 18.
