You know that our contract to provide medical services at West Meon Surgery is with West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group. There is also a push to move some services out of hospitals and into community settings – such as West Meon Surgery. We already provide a wide range of services, but are working with other practices inWinchester and the surrounding rural areas to respond to that push.
In NHS jargon this is known as Practice Based Commissioning (PBC) and the shorthand name for our group of practices is WINCAR ( Winchester City and Rural). Over the next year or so you may find our doctor or nurse referring to this group when discussing your treatment options, or you may see references to it on this website or in our waiting room.
