West Meon Surgery

The return to routine primary care

Over the last few months you will have appreciated that we have had to work differently to look after our patients as well as managing coronavirus (Covid-19).

Thank you for adapting to the ways of working that we have had to implement, all of which are needed to ensure the safety of our patients and our staff.

We have worked to reduce the number of people coming into the practice by the using online e-Consult system on our website, by the use of telephone appointments or video consultations.

As we return to carrying out more of the day to day routine primary care work, we would ask that you continue what you have been doing to access our GP service.

Please do not come to the surgery without an appointment unless coming to the dispensary to collect medicines.

Please use the e-consult via this website or telephone us.

We have introduced a new reception triage policy that intends to ensure that the right resource for you is provided first time. This means that the staff will be asking more questions as to the reason for an appointment. Please help us to help you by as much  information as possible. All information is treated with the strictest confidentiality.

If you are asked to come to the surgery for a face to face consultation, please;

  • Only arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time if possible.

  • Wear a face covering or face mask. You may not be able to be seen without one.

  • Use the hand sanitiser available upon entry and around the building.

By only coming to the surgery with an appointment, it means:

  • you will get seen promptly

  • you are reducing your risk of catching/spreading coronavirus by avoiding a waiting room

  • you are helping to keep staff healthy and safe

We are trying to provide services whilst keeping people safe, reducing the spread of coronavirus and maximising the benefit of the healthcare resources that we can make .

A home visiting service, for vulnerable patients who are unable to leave their home can be provided following review by the doctors.
